There is no time like the present…

WP_000092From our hotel window we can see a building with a large clock. This is really handy when you have just arrived from a different time zone and you haven’t yet changed the time on your watch, phone and Zune (look it up) etc.

We used this clock for a couple of days to work out when it was time to get out of bed – or head off into the city to explore.

The first morning when we thought we had slept in till 7:00 and headed down for breakfast – the city was full-on. “This is our kind of city! Everyone is up early!”. Although we did think it strange that the breakfast menus had finished and the diners were serving lunch.

On the 2nd day we realised something was up when at 11:00am the only person on the street was an old lady collecting 2nd hand chewing gum from the pavement.

A closer look at the clock and it is just an elaborate practical joke from M&Co. I remember these these guys from my Remo days. This design is called “Askew”. They used to like doing crazy things with wall clocks. It’s OK in your home or office – but in public – really – it’s just cruel.
