Kurt has had his Sony eReader for a while – and I have to say even though I am an uber-geek I was a bit skeptical about ditching good old paper books.
Trouble is books are too damn heavy to cart around if you are travelling so I picked up a Kindle in New York for $100.
I am a convert!
The form factor is actually better because it is so light. My arm gets tired trying to hold up a book in bed for too long…But the best feature is being able to buy a book anywhere!
After watching the first season of Game of Thrones – which is book one of the George R.R Martin series there was no way I could wait a year for each of the books to be filmed.
With the Kindle you just jump into the store – find the book – buy it – and in 2 minutes you have it. No more being forced to buy some shitty title at the airport out of desperation.
Also the ebooks are much cheaper than the printed version. Much cheaper.
Better still…if I do not have my Kindle on me and just my phone – I can call up the Kindle app and start reading on the phone and it knows exactly where I left off.
The Kindle is a must have gadget!
