Today we went to the American Museum of Natural History, if you are a creationist this is not the place for you. Low and behold it’s summer break here and there were a mullion, mullion kids in packs, screaming and doing what kids do. Fantastic display of the beginning of the universe/ stars/ Earth where you sit in a lounge chair in this huge sphere with the upper half of the sphere projected onto. The film is just stunning and envelopes you. It starts with the beginning of the universe, and how stars are made. It also talks about how the Sun will one day be a white dwarf after engulfing the Earth but reassuringly tells the littlies that not to worry because “humans will be long gone”. I hope they found that little nugget reassuring, this won’t kill you because you’ll be dead. Glen had a micro-nap, god love him. We also saw a dinosaur IMAX movie that featured a couple of aquatic reptiles mating, sex, sex, sex.
Off to the baseball tonight, Yankees vs. Redsocks in 35 degree heat, woohoo!
