Baked bean storage through the ages

While visiting the Pergamon Museum we came across this little gem.

It’s over 1000 yrs. old from Persia. And could have possibly been a storage vessel for baked beans or so the description in German said (I do not read German well).

While visiting the Kaiser supermarket we came across this.

Can you see the delicate workmanship. This definitely is for storage of baked beans and shows how stable methods of baked bean storage have been over the eons. Humans are creatures of habit.
